What is USDA?
The United States Department of Agriculture also known as the USDA creates and enforces federal policy on farming, agriculture, and food. Working to ensure food safety; their grading and labeling system tells consumers the quality of the product.

The inspection mark found on meat packaging tells you the product was prepared in a federal or State-inspected plant. This offers product safety assurance to consumers.
There are beef quality grades which tell a consumer the "quality" of the beef they are purchasing.
Protecting, supporting and promoting agriculture helps ensure U.S. food supply, however efforts are also made to end world hunger and educate consumers about nutrition.
