Round Steak All Dressed Up

Good enough for a fancy dinner, this round steak recipe will impress.

  1. 1 lb round
  2. 1/4 c sweet onion chopped
  3. 3 tbsp olive oil
  4. 1 tbsp sea salt
  5. freshly ground pepper
  6. 2 c freshly chopped spinach
  7. 1 tbsp garlic
  8. merlot
  9. 1/2 c portobello mushrooms


Pound beef with meat mallet.
Sprinkle salt & pepper, onion, garlic and spinach onto meat.
Roll meat and fasten with toothpicks.
Brown meat in olive oil in skillet.
Cover with water cook for two hours or until tender.
Remove steak, set aside. Add merlot and mushrooms to gravy and reduce to thicken.

Drizzle gravy over beef, serve immediately with brown rice and steamed carrots.


Another great round steak recipe:Easy & Colorful:
  • 1 lb round thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1/2 c sweet onion
  • 4 mushrooms
  • 1/2 c soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 c chicken broth
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp honey


  • Combine soy sauce, ginger, broth, red pepper, and honey. Place meat into mixture to marinate. Set aside. Slice all veggies then set aside. Heat oil in skillet, add beef browning thoroughly. Add vegetables and simmer til tender. This is good served with wholegrain rice or pita pockets. This meal is full of flavor so I like to serve it with a simple angel food cake with an orange glaze.
