I'll have a Delmonico, please.
...But what is a Delmonico?
The term came from an infamous restaurant in NYC in the early 19th Century, is both a cut of beef and a type of steak dinner.
It's unclear as which cut of beef was used at the restaurant in New York. Today, a few different cuts are often used and are cooked in a variety of ways including: broiled, fried, or grilled.
Those cuts include:
Bone-in Top Loin Steak

Boneless Ribeye Steak

Boneless Top Loin Steak

Any of these cuts will work but it may vary from steak restaurant to restaurant and grocery store to grocery store. Also remember that not all will know what the term refers to so you will be "one" step ahead and can educate them on what "qualifies".
